About Kathy Malloch
Dr. Kathy Malloch is a recognized expert in leadership and the development of effective evidence-based processes, innovative leadership models, insight into complex systems, decision-making, and futures strategy. Her uncanny focus on accountability and results is the hallmark of her practice. Her expertise in the identification of organizational, clinical, productivity, and financial indicators / variables for the analysis and evaluation of futuristic healthcare systems engaged in evidence-based facility design has been useful to many organizations across the country. Most recently, Dr. Malloch has served as the first program director for the Arizona State University, College of Nursing & Health Innovation, Masters in Healthcare Innovation program http://nursingandhealth.asu.edu/mhi. This innovative, multidisciplinary program is the first of its kind in the country.
A nationally known writer and speaker, Dr. Malloch has been a registered nurse for 35 years. Kathy has published extensively in proctored health journals. She is a frequent presenter and author on leadership topics, healing environments, professional nursing practice, and patient classification systems. Her textbook “Quantum Leadership” co-authored with Tim Porter-O’Grady is a best seller and is currently used in over 220 graduate programs. The Quantum Leader received the AJN Book of the Year award in 2005. Most recently, “An Introduction to Evidence Based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare,” published with co-author Dr. Porter-O’Grady received the 5-Star Doody Award for best publication. She is sought after as a consultant and has worked with many large health systems on issues of shared leadership, workload and organizational effectiveness.
